Claire McMahon, 85, of West Point died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at West Point Living Center. Funeral Mass will be 10:30am Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Guild, Catholic Daughters, and Christian Mothers Rosary will be 1:30pm Sunday, and Wake Service will be 6:00pm Sunday, both at Stokely Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Noon until 8:00pm Sunday at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Francis Hospice, and Cuming County Relay for Life. Claire Marie Rozmarin was born March 4, 1928 in Omaha to William and Clara (Nemec) Rozmarin. She grew up in Omaha, attended St. Wenceslaus grade school, graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1946, and worked as a stenographer. On October 27, 1951, Claire married Alfred McMahon at St. Wenceslaus Church in Omaha. The couple lived in Omaha and Superior, and in 1964 they moved to West Point, where Claire worked part time at Marv’s 275 for 25 years. Claire was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guild, Catholic Daughters, and Christian Mothers. Among her favorite pastimes were working crossword puzzles, enjoying time with her children and grandchildren, and ; shopping;. Survivors include her sons Michael (Jill) McMahon of Bellevue, Thomas (Karen) McMahon of West Point, and Mark (Gayle) McMahon of Wichita, KS; daughters Judy (Michael) Pilmaier of Bellevue, Susan Steffensmeier of Columbus, and Patty (Tim) Slagle of West Point; brother Francis (Rose Ann) Rozmarin of Omaha; 21 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Claire was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alfred in 2002; brother William Rozmarin; sisters Gladys Kleine and Marcella Fister; and great-granddaughter Charlotte Render. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
