Charlie Morsett, 70, of West Point, died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at his home. View Charlie’s videohttp://www. Bandbvideo. Com/morsett Funeral services will be 10:30 am. Wednesday at Trinity Church in West Point with Reverend Nora Mendyk officiating. Burial at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mount Hope Cemetery or St. Francis Home Health. Visitation 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Tuesday with family present 5:00 pm. until 7:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Charlie was born June 19, 1939 at Norfolk, Nebraska to Charley and Fern Raff Morsett. Charlie grew up at Royal, Nebraska, attended country school, graduating from Orchard High School in 1957. On June 6, 1959 Charlie married Mary Jane Napier at United Methodist Church at Orchard, Nebraska. They lived on the farm at Royal, Nebraska before moving to West Point in 1960. There Charlie started his trucking career by attending the trucking”school of hard knocks”. He drove first for Leonard Schuetze then purchased his own truck in 1971. Charlie hauled frozen ducks from Indiana to Seattle, WA and Portland, OR, and returned to the Midwest with frozen seafood or fresh produce. Charlie was a member of Trinity Church. Thru the years Charlie enjoyed camping, fishing, horses and motorcycles. Charlie loved attending the activities of his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane, of West Point, daughter Lori Jo Eisenhauer of Oxford, North Carolina, sons Terry (Kimberly) of Raymond, NE and Charlie, Jr. “Chuck” (Kim) of Norfolk, NE grandchildren, Megan and Michael Eisenhauer, Sgt. Austin, Alex, Cassidy Morsett , Lee and Allen Morsett, sisters Dorothy (John) Welsh of Oneill, NE and LaVon Dike of Norfolk, NE. He is preceded in death by his parents.
