Charles Dean “Chuck” Janecek, 54, of Dodge died September 26, 2005 as the result of an automobile accident north of Snyder. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Friday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with Reverend Dennis DeGuzman as celebrant. Rosary will be at 3:00 pm. THursday and Public Wake Services will be 7:30 pm. Thursday both at St. Wenceslaus. Burial with Military Honors will be at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Dodge American Legionor Dodge Rescue. Those wishing to sign the register may do so 1:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Thursday at the Church or on line at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Chuck was born January 19, 1951 at West Point to Frank and Marita Ernesti Janecek. He grew up on the family farm north of Dodge and attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic Grade School. He graduated from Dodge High School with the class of 1969. On September 24, 1971 he married Jeri Ann Hilbers at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder. Chuck served his country with the United States Marine Corp from 1969 until 1973. He returned to the farm where he spent his life farming. He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dodge American Legion, and had served as an officer on the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Scholl Board. He loved fishing, hunting, football, and farming. Survivors include his wife, Jeri of Dodge, daughter Jennifer (Mitchell) Schmidt of Omaha, son Joel of Dodge, his mother, Marita of Dodge, sisters Connie (Allan) Johannes of Omaha, Patricia (Ron) Coufal of Howells, and Barbara (Rick) Podany of Clarkson. He is preceded in death by his father.
