Catherine Ulrich, 80, of West Point, died March 18, 2007 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Gerald Gonderinger as celebrant. Guild, Christian Mothers, and Catholic Daughters Rosary will be 1:30 pm. Tuesday at Stokely Funeral Home and Public Wake Services will be 7:00 pm. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 4:00 pm. Tuesday at Stokely Funeral Home and continue at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Michael’s or St. Francis Memorial Hospital Hospice. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Catherine was born September 4, 1926 on the family farm east of Beemer to Theodore and Theresa Spenner Gentrup. She attended country school near Beemer and worked as a hired girl for families in the area for 15 years. On October 2, 1957 she married Vincent Ulrich at Holy Cross Catholic Church at Beemer. The couple farmed at Monterey where they were members of St. Boniface Catholic Church. They retired to West Point in February of 1990. Catherine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guild, Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed Embroidery, quilting, crafts, playing cards, and especially her grandchildren. Catherine volunteered at St. Joseph’s Retirement Community. Survivors include her husband, Vincent, of West Point, son David (Lilly) of West Point, daughters Rita Ulrich of Fremont, Lois (Gary) Niewohner of Scribner, Martha (Mark) Schweers of Wisner and Monica Ulrich of Littleton, CO, grandchildren Megan, Mitchell, and Mariha Schweers, Teresa and Nathan Ulrich, Katie and Annie Niewohner, brothers William (Geraldine) Gentrup of West Point, Fred (Dorothy) Gentrup, Ted (Doris) Gentrup and Leo Gentrup all of Beemer, sisters Sister Clarice Gentrup of Sidney, Leona Gentrup of Denver, CO, Millie Gentrup of Hamilton, MT, and Theresa Spader of Lyons, sisters-in-law Rosie Gentrup, Anna Marie Meiergerd and Mary Ellen Ulrich all of West Point, Delores Ulrich of Omaha and Hermines Ulrich of Howells. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Cecelia Johnson, brother Ignatius Gentrup, brother-in-laws Dennis Johnson, Al Spader, Frank, Leonard, and Martin Ulrich and Leo Meiergerd.
