Catherine M. Lummel, 87, of West Point died June 28, 2007 at West Point Living Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Guild Rosary will be 1:30 pm. Sunday and Public Wake Services will be 7:30 pm. Sunday both at Stokely Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Catherine was born July 5, 1918 on the farm near Aloys to Henry and Philomena Doerneman Dinslage and attended St. Aloysius School thru the 8th grade. She worked on the farm and for a few years in Omaha. She married Joe Lummel. The couple lived in West Point and Catherine cleaned houses. Catherine moved to West Point Living Center in August of 2002. Catherine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Guild. Catherine was a wonderful gardener who enjoyed caring for her flowers and vegetables. She was very fond of her parakeet “Dickie”. Survivors include sisters Johanna Neesen and Helen Gentrup, brother Joe Dinslage, sister in law Theresa Dinslage all of West Point and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe, on April, 18, 1994 sister Elizabeth Hunke, brothers Theodore and Leonard Dinslage, sister in laws Sophie, Mamie and Agnella Dinslage and brother in laws Hilary Gentrup and Walter Neesen.
