Carroll L. “Bud” Bailey, 92, of Uehling, died Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Wisner Care Center.  Funeral services will be 11:30am on Thursday, February 19 at Trinity Church in West Point with Rev. Priscilla Hukki officiating.  Burial will be at a later date with lunch following the service at the church hall.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00am to 11:30am.  Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home.

Carroll Lyle “Bud” Bailey was born on January 18, 1934, in West Point, Nebraska, to Raymond and Mabel (Johnson) Bailey. From an early age, Bud showed a steady, hardworking spirit—whether attending West Point Public School or helping his father, a Cuming County Surveyor.

On February 11, 1954, Bud answered the call to serve his country, entering the U.S. Army with the same sense of duty and grit that marked his character. He served until February 10, 1956.

After his military service, Bud built a respected career as a carpenter and construction worker. He spent many years traveling the country as a selfemployed craftsman, taking on projects wherever his skills were needed. His expertise also led him to build three houses of his own, lasting examples of his talent. Whatever the job, Bud took pride in doing things the right way.

On May 2, 1981, Bud married Karen Weimer in Omaha, Nebraska. Together they built a life marked by adaptability and adventure, making homes in many places throughout Nebraska, as well as Branson, Missouri.

Bud found joy and purpose in everyday pursuits. He tended his garden with care—especially his beloved marigolds—and put his skills to work through countless home improvement projects

Bud’s life was grounded in hard work, devotion, and a strength that those around him felt deeply. His legacy lives on in the things he built, the places he touched, and the people who knew him.

Bud is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Carol (Greg) Fenske of Sargent,  Cindy (Pat) Coffman of Dunning, Janet (John) Jacobsen of Kearney, Judy Mulligan of Thedford; son, Brian (Tamara) Bailey of Rio Verde, AZ; stepson, Charles Weimer of Fremont; sister, Karen (Cyril) Renner of Wichita Falls, TX; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Dean and Delwin; sisters, Betty Lennemann, Shirley Carlson, Dana Meyer; and son-in-law, Mark Mulligan.
