Carol Ann “Curly” Johnson, 72, of Wisner, formerly of West Point, died Monday, January 17, 2011 at Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend Christian Meier officiating. Burial will occur at the Pioneer Cemetery east of West Point at a later date. Visitation will be noon until 8:00 pm. Wednesday with family receiving friends 5:00 pm. until 7:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Carol was born June 19, 1938 in West Point to Casper and Caroline Sass Sellentin. She attended school in West Point. She acted as Majorette for the marching band and graduated with the class of 1956 from West Point Public High School. On April 17, 1958 Carol married Donald Johnson at Grace Lutheran Church. Carol was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Eagles Auxiliary. Carol was a natural musician, and enjoyed sharing her talents, especially at the key board. She enjoyed playing soft ball and golf, and loved camping and fishing. Her family was most important to her. Survivors include her husband, Don of Wisner, sons Scott (Erin) and Dan “D. J.” (Genene) both of West Point, daughter Carrie Johnson (Randy Brock) of Grand Island, sister Evelyn (LeRoy) Fredricksen of Fremont, brother Ray (Janet) Sellentin of West Point, sister in law Carol Sellentin of West Point, grandchildren Eric Johnson, trenten Dohmen, Matthew Brock, Kylie Johnson, Kristy Voyles, Aleasha La Croix, Amanda Brock and Greg Johnson. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Edward Sellentin.
