Betty Woerman, 86, of Oakland, died July 7, 2013 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Services will be 10:30am Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, West Point, with Reverend Chris Meier officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until 8:00pm Tuesday, with family receiving friends 7:00-8:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church. Betty Ann Woerman was born March 3, 1927 to Carl and Anna (Carlson) Carlson in rural Bancroft. She attended country school and graduated from West Point High School in 1944. Betty enjoyed farm life and the companionship of her cats. She especially looked forward to time spent with her family, and sewing and crocheting were some of Betty’s favorite pastimes. Survivors include sons Gale (Loretta) Woerman of Omaha and Brian (Carolina) Woerman of West Point; brother Ernest (Christine) Carlson of Marietta, GA; sisters Alice Blanknagel of Beemer, Doris (Lloyd) Olson of Tekamah, and Harriett Larson of Pender; brother-in-law Marvin Von Seggern of West Point; sister-in-law Gertrude Carlson of Bancroft; and grandsons Seth Woerman and Ryan Woerman. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Ralph in August 2012; parents; brother Roy Carlson; and sister Irene Von Seggern. Stokely Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
