Beth Heywood Peters, 86, of West Point, died November 19, 2007 at Creighton Hospital in Omaham.emorial Mass will be 10:30 am. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Guild and Christian Mothers Rosary will be 1:30 pm. Friday and public Wake services will be 7:00 pm. Friday both at Stokely Funeral Home. Burial will occur at a later date a Ridgley Cemetery near Scribner. Memorials may be made to the Sunshine Senior Center. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Friday at Stokely Funeral Home or on line at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Beth was born June 10, 1921 at Rogers, to Wesley and Pearl Maben Dunn. She grew up in the Rogers and North Bend area and graduated from North Bend High School in 1938. After graduation, she taught country school for a year. On November 21, 1942, Beth married James Heywood at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Omaha. The couple farmed south of Snyder, where Beth was active with the milking operation. Following the death of her husband in February of 1994, Beth moved to West Point. It was there on June 16, 2001 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church that she married Jack Peters. The couple lived in Schuyler until his death in December of 2003, when Beth returned to West Point. Beth was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guild and Christian Mothers. She was active at the Sunshine Senior Center where she enjoyed playing cards, especially Pitch and Sheephead. Survivors include daughters Barbara Sutton of Phoenix, AZ, and Cheryl (Mark) Schlickbernd of West Point, son Larry Heywood, of Redding CA, step-son Larry (Carolyn) Peters of Schuyler, step daughter Patty (Bernie) Valish of Lexington, grandchildren Krista Corselli, Mike (Candise) Schlickbernd, Emily (Brandon) Kubela and Erica Schlickbernd, great grandchildren Kayley Kubela, Aloura and Mariah L’Africain, 6 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husbands James Heywood and Jack Peters and brothers Keith and Wayne Dunn.
