Bernice Kathryn Linnemann, 95, of West Point died Sunday, October, 22, 2006 in Omaham.ass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Guild and Christian Mothers Rosary will be 1:30 pm. Tuesday and Public Wake Services will be 7:00 pm. Tuesday, both at Stokely Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Tuesday at Stokely Funeral Home. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com.Bernice was born April 17, 1911 at Creighton, NE to Richard Y. and Caroline Mecke Thompson. She attended St. Luger’s Catholic School and later worked at a boarding house. On February 14, 1928 she married John Linnemann at St. Luger’s Catholic Church in Creighton. The couple established their home on a farm just west of West Point. Bernice lived there, for 51 years, living the life of an active farm wife. She maintained a large garden, raised chickens and helped with the farm chores. Following the death of her husband in 1979, Bernice moved into West Point. She was a seamstress and liked to crochet and remained active with her family’s lives. Bernice was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guild and Catholic Daughters. Survivors include her daughter Phyllis Carrig of Omaha, grandchildren Doug (Mary) Carrig, Don (Diane) Carrig, Dan (Dana) Carrig, Lynette (Kevin) O’Hearn, and Linda (Rick) Harral, and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John, in February, 1977, son John “Bud”, and an infant daughter Carol, her son in law Joseph Carrig, sisters Lorraine Scheinost, Leona Hattig, and Gertrude Sorenson, brothers William, Robert and Harold Thompson.
