Audrey Kaup, 91, of West Point, died Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Colonial Haven in Beemer. Memorial Mass will be 10:30am on Monday, March 28 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. James Weeder as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery with lunch following at the Nielsen Center. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm with a Vigil Service at 5:00pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A memorial has been established. Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home.
Audrey Faith Kaup was born April 7, 1930 to Leonard and Wilma (Faubel) Galbraith in West Point. She graduated from Wisner Public School in 1947, received teacher training and taught in country schools until marriage. On June 20, 1950, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point, Audrey married the love of her life, Dennis Kaup. Their love for each other was evident to all who knew them. Audrey was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild.
Audrey worked as a clerk at Tom’s Rexall Drug for many years, sharing her friendly smile with customers, but her most important job was raising their five children. She was a devoted housewife and mother and as the years went by she was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Audrey liked to crochet and sew, enjoyed reading, loved to bake and could always feed whoever came to the house.

Son, Randy (Shelly) of Omaha – Josh (Heather) Kaup, Jeremiah Shafer, Cody (Katie) Kaup, Stephanie Kaup, DeeJay Kaup
19 great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Elkins of York and many nieces and nephews. Audrey is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; her parents; parents-in-law, Frederick and Anna Kaup; daughter-in-law, Gwen Kaup; sisters, Catherine Uhing and Ardeane Breitkruetz; and brother-in-law Harold (Catherine) Kaup.
