Arthur B. Knobbe, 88, of West Point, died Wednesday, December 08, 2010 at West Point Living Center. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Vigil Services with Knights of Columbus Rosary will be 7:00 pm. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 3:00 pm. Friday at Stokely Funeral Home and then continue at the church until Vigil time. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Art was born February 14, 1922 on the family farm 10 miles south west of West Point to Henry and Anna Batenhorst Knobbe. He attended St. Boniface Catholic School at Monterey. On September 7, 1949 @ St. Aloysius Catholic Church at Aloys, Art married Dorothy Wordekemper. The couple dairy farmed near Monterey, retiring into West Point in the early 1990’s. Arthur was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of West Point, daughters Mary (Dick) Stieren of Omaha, Karen (John) Cartwright of Dallas Center, IA, and Jean (Randy) Schinstock of Redding, CA, sons Mike (Patty) Knobbe of West Point and Terry Knobbe(Lisa Meinzer) of Omaha, grandchildren Jessica Knobbe, Sarah (Paul) lepert, Betsy Cartwright, Greg (Alyssa) Stieren, Ben Schinstock, Brian Schinstock, Rachel Stieren and Derek Stieren, great grandchildren Cole and Dillon Lepert, sisters Olivia Emmanuel and Dorothy (Wally) Nebuda both of West Point, Margaret Witt of Columbus, Laverne (Richard) Faltin of Dodge, and Joletta Mejstrik of Norfolk, brothers Jerry (Theresa) Knobbe and Richard ( Marilyn) Knobbe both of West Point. He is preceded in death by his brother Dennis Knobbe and sisters Rita Foy and Verena Mendlik.
