Arnold Kreikemeier, 92, of West Point, died Friday, December 15, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hillside Villa in West Point.  Funeral Mass will be 10:30am on Tuesday, December 19 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. James Weeder as celebrant.  The funeral will be live streamed on the Stokely Funeral Home Facebook page at facebook.com/stokelyfuneralhome.  Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery with lunch following at the GACC Cafeteria.  Visitation will be Monday from 3:00pm to 7:00pm with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home.  Family will be present at visitation from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.  Memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s Elder Services Foundation.  Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home.

Arnold Kreikemeier was born February 18, 1931 on the farm west of West Point to Adolph Sr. and Margaret (Batenhorst) Kreikemeier. He attended St. Boniface Catholic School at Monterey through the 8th grade. He was then engaged in farming on the family farm. On February 5, 1953, Arnold married Marilyn Herman at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The couple lived west of West Point where his love of farming and raising feeder pigs was Arnold’s passion. The couple moved to West Point in the fall of 1999.

Arnold was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.  The Cuming County Fair received much of his support and volunteerism throughout the years.  Many evenings were spent square-dancing with Marilyn with the Bustles and Beaus. He loved playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He still enjoyed drives in the country to keep tabs on the crops.

Survivors include his children, Harvey (Shirley) Kreikemeier of West Point, Angela (Dave) McMahon of David City, Wilfred (Linda) Kreikemeier of West Point and Jerome (Denise) Kreikemeier of West Point; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene (Sue) of Norfolk, sisters-in-law, Pat Kreikemeier and Margaret Kreikemeier; and brothers-in-law, Bill Kaup and Leonard Peatrowsky. Arnold is preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, January 2, 2016; one grandchild; 3 infant siblings; sisters Germaine Kaup, Imelda Peatrowsky; brothers Jerome, Gerald, Adolph,Jr., and Francis (Jeannie).
