Anton C. Bose, 91 formerly of Snyder died Friday October 31, 2008 at Arbor Manor in Fremont. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Monday at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder with Reverend Don Cleary as celebrant. Wake services will be 7:00 pm. Sunday at St. Leo’s Church in Snyder. Burial in the St. Leo’s Cemetery with military honors graveside. Visitation will be 3:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Sunday at the church. Memorials may be made to Snyder Fire and Rescue, Odyssey Hospice or the VFW. Stokely Funeral Home in West Point is in charge of arrangements. Anton was born October 16, 1917, four miles north of Snyder in Cuming County to John and Catherine Schmuecker Bose. He attended St. Boniface Catholic School at Monterey. Anton served in the US Army from 1941 until 1945, stationed in the Philippines, New Guinea, and West Dutch Indies. He returned to work on the family farm. On September 1, 1965 he married Eileen Smeal Renter. The couple lived in Snyder where Anton was employed for Smeal’s, retiring in 1990. They moved to Arbor Manor in Fremont in February of 2008. Anton was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder, Knights of Columbus, and the VFW. He enjoyed farming, his yard and garden. Survivors include his wife, Eileen, formerly of Snyder, daughters LaDonna (Jim) Scheppers of Longmont, CO, LaMaar (Leonard) Scheppers of Gering and LaZelle (Kenny) Dolezal of North Bend, sons Byron (Lois) Renter of Snyder, LaVern (Rosemary) Renter of San Antonio, TX and Stephen (Carol) Renter of Fremont, sister Dorothy Bose of West Point, brother Arthur (Delores) Bose of North Bend 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by sisters Catherine Bose, Theresa Kloke and Elinor Goeken, brother John Bose and a granddaughter.
