Andrew “Andy” Ritter 97, of West Point, died Sunday, January 13, 2013, at West Point Living Center. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Monterey with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant followed by burial in the St. Boniface Cemetery. Wake services with Knights of Columbus Rosary will be 6:30 pm. Wednesday at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Wednesday at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Boniface Church. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Andy was born January 11, 1916, to William and Mary (Wordekemper) Ritter in Cuming County. Andy grew up on the family farm west of West Point and attended St. Boniface Catholic School. Following his father’s death, he continued the family cattle-feeding operation. Andy was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, sang in the church choir, was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, a member of the Cuming County Feeders Association, and a 37-year member of the Cuming County Rural Water District. He enjoyed roller-skating and bowling, and golfed and snow-skied into his early 90s. Survivors include a sister, Agnes Brennan of Manchester, NJ, nieces, nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by sisters, Bernadette Ritter and Angela Vrbicky, brother Rudolph Ritter, a nephew and a great-great nephew.
