Amy M. Schinstock, 85, of West Point, died Sunday July 3, 2011 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Christian Meier officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the West Point Community Theatre or Grace Lutheran Cairo Kids program. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Tuesday with family receiving friends 5 until 7 at Stokely Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements. Amy May Schinstock was born June 17, 1926 in West Point to George and Lillie (Schulzkump) Rozendal. She attended West Point Public Schools graduating in 1943 and then worked at the Rural Electric Association. On October 16, 1947 Amy married Wilfred Schinstock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Rectory in West Point. Amy was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, participating with vacation bible school and Cairo Kids. She was a charter member of the St. Francis Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, a member of Women’s Club, the Red Hat Society and a Red Cross and St. Joseph’s Retirement Community volunteer. Amy was an avid Bridge player but will be remembered for making wedding cakes and catering. She enjoyed socializing and adored her grandchildren. Survivors include husband Wilfred of West Point, sons Richard (Cynthia) of Fremont, Daniel (Kathy) of Lincoln, David (Colette) of West Point, Randy (Jean) of Redding, CA, Robert (Patty) of West Point, ten grandchildren, Melinda and Sean Schinstock, Nichole Petersen, Chad and Cory Schinstock, Alicia Minor, Ben and Brian Schinstock and Kevin and Kristen Schinstock, six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Irene Rozendal of Beemer, sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth (William) Bliemeister and Francis (Marilyn) Schinstock. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert “Vernon” Rozendal, sisters Eunice Kulik and Leona Woerman and granddaughter Christina Schinstock.
