Alvina Caroline Kreikemeier, 78, of Dodge, died August 1, 2006 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Olean with Reverend Gerald Gonderinger as celebrant. Public Wake Services will be 7:30 pm. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Olean. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Cemetery or St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point. Visitation will be at 4:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Alvina was born April 3, 1928 on the farm south east of Howells in Colfax County to Bernard “Ben” and Catherine Eusterbrock Knust. She attended Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Howells. On November 4, 1947, she married Frank Kreikemeier at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Howells. The couple farmed north west of Dodge where Alvina took care of the milking, retiring from milking in the early 1980’s. She later worked at Wimmers and the Town Mart in Dodge. Alvina was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point and former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, loved playing music on her accordion, but her passion was Nebraska Football. Survivors include daughters Mary Lou (Steve) Nielsen of Snyder, Carol (Jimmy) Praest of Dodge, and Dorthy (Bob) Whited of Gretna, sons Ronald (Linda) of West Point, Norbert (Nancy) of Dodge, John (Mary) Scribner, Raymond (Rosie) of North Bend, Kenneth (Mary Jo) of Rogers, and Mark (Tammy) of North Bend, sisters Evelyn Peitzemeier of Norfolk, Viola (Joe) Kreikemeier of West Point and Lorraine (Ray) Ortmeier of Dodge, brothers Dennis (Sylvia) Knust of Bandera, Texas and Lambert (Christie) Knust of Houston Texas, 37 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank, August 22, 1996, sisters Irene Prusa and LaRose Meister.
