Alma Regina Randel, 84, of West Point, died Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at West Point Living Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Gerald Gonderinger as celebrant. Guild, Christian Mothers, and Catholic Daughters Rosary will be 1:30 pm. Sunday and public Wake Services will be 7:00 pm. Sunday both at Stokely Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Central Catholic Activities Center. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Sunday at Stokely Funeral Home. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Alma was born August 24, 1921 at Seneca, Kansas to Frank and Bertha Lorson Block and attended country school there. On June 16, 1945 she married Worth Randel at Richmond, Virginia. The couple moved to west Point from Geneva in 1955, purchasing Kerl’s Jewelry, operating as Randel Jewelry until retiring in 1987. She lived at St. Joseph’s retirement community before moving to the West Point Living Center. Alma was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guild, Christian Mothers, and Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed playing Bridge and was an avid golfer, winning the first women’s Club Championship at Indian Trails Country Club at Beemer. Alma loved all sports and following her grandchildren in their activities. Survivors include daughters Karen Welding of West Point, Connie (Dale) Going and Elizabeth (Dave) Watson both of Santa Rosa, California, son Glenn (Deb) of West Point, twin sister Alda Wassenberg of Topeka, Kansas, sisters Bea Fitzpatrick of Iowa City, Iowa, Helen Hammes and Grace (Bob) Strathman both of Seneca, Kansas, brother Bill (Shirley) Block of Leewood, Kansas, grandchildren Tom and Jeff Welding, Toby Thompson, Craig and Shelby Randel, Lori Yosten, Cheri and Kelly Going and Ellen Watson, great grandchildren Kylie Johnson, Jay and Jordan Yosten, Isaac Welding, Hailey and Linsey Rasmussen. She is preceded in death by her husband, Worth, in 1993 and brother Francis Block.
