Allen “Al” Wagner, 64, of West Point died February 26, 2013 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Funeral Mass will be 10:30am Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Burial with military honors will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Rosary will be 7:00pm Thursday at Stokely Funeral Home, with visitation 9:00am until 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to West Point Sportsmen’s Club or St. Francis Memorial Hospital Cardiac Rehab. Allen Edward Wagner was born August 19, 1948 in West Point to Henry “Duke” and Kathleen (Clausen) Wagner. Al graduated from West Point Central Catholic High School in 1966. On October 7, 1967 Al married Margaret Birchem at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Monterey. Al served in the United States Air Force November 1967 to November 1971. He was employed by Smeals Fire Apparatus of Snyder for 16 years and then went into business for himself, owning Wagner Tire from 1988 until 1997. Al owned a fireworks stand and delivered the Omaha World Herald newspaper, and he was a member of the Isaac Walton League/West Point Sportsmen’s Club for over 40 years, serving as Secretary/Treasurer and on the Board of Directors. Al was an instructor for Hunter Safety for 38 years. Al’s interests included hunting and camping, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Al is survived by his wife Margaret; daughter Wendy (Craig) Wooldrik of West Point; son Wade (Peggy) Wagner of West Point; grandchildren Tori and Alex Wagner, and Colin, Macey, Ethan and Isaac Wooldrik; mother Kathleen Wagner-Baer and stepfather Boyd Baer of West Point; brothers Rodney (Cindy) Wagner of West Point and Kevin (Dianne) Wagner of Fairbury; sister Vicky Wagner of Carlsbad, CA; several nieces and nephews. Al is preceded in death by his father Henry “Duke” Wagner and brother Jim Wagner.
