Aldred John Kroenke, 87, of Dodge, died May 27, 2006 at Immanuel Hospital in Omaham.ass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Tuesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with Reverend Dennis DeGuzman as celebrant. Public Wake Services will be 7:30 pm. Monday at St. Wenceslaus. Burial will be at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Wenceslaus Catholic School Endowment or Dodge Rescue. Visitation will be 3:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Monday at the Church. Aldred was born September 25, 1918 on the family farm south of Dodge to John and Catherine Rhode Kroenke. He attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School in Dodge. On August 25, 1943 he married Justina Kaup at St. Aloysius Catholic Church at Aloys. For two years during WWII, Al worked in an aircraft factory in Van Nuys, California. The couple then farmed 10 miles south of Dodge. They lived there for 32 years before retiring into Dodge. While living on the farm, he was an active member of St. Patrick’s Church at Clyde, serving as trustee and as a member of Holy Name Society. Aldred was president of Clyde and Dublin Cemetery Association of North Bend for 26 years. He served several years on District 52 School Board and 17 years on the Dodge School Board. Aldred was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Justina, of Dodge, daughters Mary (Harvey) Mandel of Dodge, Phyllis (Dave) Harlan of Bassett, Barb (Merlyn) Steffensmeier, of Dodge, Patti (Don) Lamphere of Lincoln and Jeanine (Rex) Kemp of Ogallala, sons Ralph (Jan) of Columbus, Jim (Shirley) of Fremont and Ed (Cheryl) of Dodge, 17 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and sister-in-law Rose Kroenke of Dodge. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Alverna Belsky Mendlik and Josephine in infancy, brother Louis, and two grandchildren Scott Mandel and Julie Mandel.
