Albert “Abe” Wisnieski, 90, of Dodge, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Parkview Home in Dodge. Memorial Mass will be 10:00 am. Tuesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with Reverend Patrick Mclaughlin as celebrant. There will be a Rosary recited at 3:00 pm. Monday and a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Monday both at St. Wenceslaus. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so starting at 3:00 pm. on Monday at the church. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Stokely Funeral Home in Dodge is in charge of arrangements. Abe was born Dec. 16, 1920 on the family farm northwest of Dodge in Dodge County to Bernard “Barney” and Elizabeth Sellhorst Wisnieski. He attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School. On November 12, 1942, Albert married Oringa Doernemann at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Olean. The couple farmed north west of Dodge. Abe partnered with Dennis Mendlik in a well business and served as a 3rd District Supervisor for Dodge County during the 1980’s. The couple moved into Dodge in 1981. Albert was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and Catholic Order of Foresters. He enjoyed farming, bowling and, in his retirement, playing golf. Survivors include his wife, Oringa, of Dodge, daughters, Linda Mullins of Grand Junction, CO, Sandra (Micheal) Herzog of Ft. Calhoun, and Deborah Wisnieski of Oklahoma City, OK, sister Margaret Pekarek of Schuyler, grandchildren Neal, Jay, and Toby Wegner and Michaelle Vega-Hernandez, great grandchildren Jourdin Mitchell, Morgen, Amanda, and Megann Wegner, Nathan Spruill, Nate Wilcoxen, and Alexa Wegner, sisters in law Edna Wisnieski of Lincoln, and Philomena Wisnieski of Dodge. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Nadine, brothers Anton, Joseph, Benny, Anton and Hubert, sisters Elizabeth Dvorak, Angie Vrba, and Sophie Wisnieski.
