Albert Frank Heimann, 99, of West Point died March 28, 2006 at West Point Living Center Public Wake Services will be 7:00 pm. Friday at Stokely Funeral Home. A private family Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Special Olympics. Those wishing to sign the register may do so Friday 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. or on line at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Albert was born February 8, 1907 on the family farm at Monterey to John and Elizabeth Lammers Heimann. He attended school at St. Boniface Catholic School. On December 27, 1933, he married Irma Janecek at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Omaha. The couple farmed at Monterey. Albert also worked at the Alfalfa Mill, and was an assessor for Monterey Township. They retired to West Point in 1979, moving to St. Joseph’s Retirement Community in 2004. Albert was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed dancing. He also attained world champion status in corn husking. Survivors include his wife, Irma, of West Point, daughters Carol (Dr. Michael) McConnell of San Antonio, TX, Elaine (Gerry) Ridder of West Point, and Judy (Harley) Charlson of Lincoln, sons Harold of Wayne, Albert, Jr. (Carmel) and Duane (Laura) both of Omaha, David (Olice) of Los Angeles, CA and Mark (Theresa) of Lincoln, a sister Veronica Hunt of West Point, 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is preceded in death by brothers Edwin and John, sisters Emelia Baumert and Stella VanAckeran.
