After a courageous battle with liver cancer, Linda Priebnow passed away at age 69 on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont, NE. Private family services will be held at Stokely Funeral Home with burial at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials will be designated by the family. Linda Lee Priebnow entered this world on Saturday, May 1, 1948. Her parents were Richard and Irma (Mortenson) Priebnow. She was the last child born of four siblings and, together with their parents, they lived on a farm seven miles southeast of West Point. She attended country school at District #65, #27 and #81. Linda graduated from West Point High in 1967 and held jobs at St. Francis Hospital, IBP, McDonald’s and Kiddie Koral Day Care & Preschool. Linda loved children and cared for many. She also assisted with bingo at the West Point Nursing Home. She was a life-long member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was active in Friendship Circle and sang in the church choir. Some of the things she enjoyed were bowling, trips to Fremont and vacations with her parents, watching movies and collecting owls. Her special memories included her Mom’s fried chicken in a cast iron skillet, gathering eggs from the chicken coop, plucking off chicken pin feathers, going outside to the shed and filling the basket with corn cobs to feed the cook stove, walking down the lane to get the mail, shoveling snow and the party line telephone. Survivors include her brothers Richard Priebnow, Jr. of Scribner and Allan (Joan) Priebnow of West Point; brother-in-law, Jim Kindschuh of West Point; and nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Richard in 1997; her mother, Irma in 2004; special friend, Virgil Hoge in 2013 and her sister, Mary Lou Kindschuh, in 2015.
