Mary Ann Reeson, 92, of West Point, died Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Shalimar Gardens in Fremont. Funeral Mass will be Monday, July 20 at 10:30am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, July 19 from noon until 8:00pm with a Guild rosary at 1:30pm and Wake Service at 7:00pm all at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to GACC Endowment, St. Francis Memorial Hospital Endowment, or St. Joseph’s Retirement Community. Mary Ann Wiesen was born March 27, 1923 in Dodge to John and Anna (Kreikemeier) Wiesen. She attended country school near Dodge before moving to Beemer. She was a 1941 graduate of Beemer High School, then worked for several years as a nanny in Chicago, IL. On April 11, 1944, Mary Ann married Arthur Reeson at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer. The couple farmed north of West Point, retiring and moving into West Point in 1997. Mary Ann was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guild, Catholic Daughters, sang in the church choir, and served on Logan Township election board. She was a member of the Neighbor Makers Extension Club, served as president of the Cuming County Home Extension Council, and served as secretary of the Extension Chairman Alumni. Mary Ann enjoyed music, dancing, and crocheting, and she was an accomplished seamstress. Survivors include her children Conrad of West Point, Marilyn Sexson of Johnstown, CO, Deanne (Gene) Wieneke of Beemer, Jane (Kevin) Knobbe of West Point, and Jon of Giltner; daughter-in-law Jean (Richard) Baumert of West Point; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters Emma Heimann of Dodge and Elizabeth French of Boise, ID; brothers Cletus (Dorothy) Wiesen of Minnesota and John (Jolene) Wiesen of Fremont; and sister-in-law Clara Wiesen of Beemer. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur on October 20, 2013; son Donald on October 6, 1994; brother Anthony Wiesen and sister Margaret Neesen.
