Gus Heimann, 94, of West Point died December 22, 2014 at Colonial Haven in Beemer. Funeral Mass 10:30 am. Friday at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Visitation 2:00 – 6:00pm Thursday, with family present at 4:00 until the 6:00 Wake service with Knights of Columbus Rosary; all at Stokely Funeral Home. Burial at St. Boniface Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Sunshine Center or St. Joseph Retirement Community. August William’Gus’ Heimann was born November 11, 1920 in West Point to Bernard and Mary (Meister) Heimann. He attended St. Boniface Catholic School, Monterey, and graduated from Guardian Angels High School, West Point in 1938. On November 25, 1948, Gus married Mildred Wackel at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point. The couple engaged in farming west of West Point in Monterey while he worked at Armour/IBP. Gus served as a Cuming County supervisor from 1979-1999. Gus was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Monterey, and Knights of Columbus. He was active at the Sunshine Center and served as their president. He was a director and sat on the advisory board of the Northeast Area on Aging for many years. He enjoyed playing cards and visiting with family and friends. Survivors include daughters Sr. Nadine Heimann, OSF of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Patricia (David) Hemmer of Lindsay and Kathleen (Robert) Mulder of Waco; daughter-in-law Lori Heimann of West Point; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mickie in October of 1989; son Thomas in November of 2007; sisters Theresa Walters, Mamie Litz, Justina Schueth, Clara Hall, Rose Heimann, Leona Hirschman, and Gertrude Halbert; brothers August Francis, Herman, Bernard’Benny,’ and Robert.
