Sandra Lynn Rasmus, 63, of West Point died Saturday August 17th, 2024 at UNMC with family by her side. Funeral service will be 10:30am on Thursday, August 22 at Trinity Church in West Point with Rev. Priscilla Hukki officiating. Burial will be at Salem Covenant Cemetery with lunch following at the Trinity Church fellowship hall. Visitation with family present will be Wednesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to West Point Fire and Rescue Departments or the Buffett Cancer Center at Nebraska Medicine. Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home.

Sandra L. Rasmus was born on August 4th, 1961 to Duane and Evelyn (Kuhn) Kulhanek in Lincoln. Sandy grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1979. Sandy met John Rasmus on March 30th, 1987 and on December 10th, 1992 they were united into marriage. In 1994, they were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Jennifer. They lived in Lincoln until moving to the family farm in 2002. Sandy, John and Jennifer operated Wind Stone Creek Vineyard. She worked various jobs, most notably the Department of Health and Human Services and West Point Public Schools. Sandy retired in December of 2023.

In her younger years, she enjoyed spending her summers on her grandparent’s farm and time with her cousins. Sandy enjoyed antiquing, junk jaunts, craft shows, painting classes and creating new home décor. She liked taking day trips or just getting coffee with friends. She enjoyed shopping and getting pedicures with her daughter Jennifer. Her pride and joy were her grandkids. She loved building towers, going to the zoo, watching movies, and most of all the cuddles with the kids.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer (Latham) Fullner and their children Sarah and Luke of West Point; sister-in-law Kristen (Ken) Kusik of Lincoln & many other friends and Family. Sandy is preceded in death by her husband John; parents, Duane & Evelyn Kulhanek; parents-in-law, John and Vernelle Rasmus; as well as other beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
