Rolland Bernard VonSeggern, 88, of rural Oakland, died February 24, 2005 at St Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Services will be 10:30 am. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend Carl Kramer officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in West Point. Memorials may be made to the Church or to Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 am. till 8:30 pm. Sunday with a prayer service at 7:00 all at Stokely Funeral Chapel. Rolland and his twin brother Raymond were born August 25, 1916 in Dodge County on the family farm near Hooper to Fred and Anna Poppe VonSeggern. He attended country school at District 30 and was confirmed in 1931 at St. John’s Lutheran Church on the County Line. On March 3, 1938 at Fremont he married Valna Woerman. The couple farmed South West and North of Hooper before purchasing a farm at Lyons. They finally settled on Valna’s family farm near Oakland in 1973. Rolland was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in West Point Survivors include a daughter Lorraine (Gordon) Hultquist of Grand Island, son Doug (Carol) of West Point, brothers Orville (Volline) VonSeggern of Omaha, Duane (Lorna) VonSeggern of Arlington, sister Anita (Ken) Dahl of Scribner, grandchildren Bradley (Jane) and Mitchell Hultquist, Kandi, Garret and Kari VonSeggern, great grandchildren Tara Luke and Anna Rose Hultguist. He is preceded in death by his wife Valna in July 2001, twin brother Ray in August 2004, brothers Vernon, Art, and triplet grandchildren Richard, Rita and Randy Hultquist.
