Oliva Luebbert, 93, of West Point, died Monday, August 13, 2018 at Colonial Haven in Beemer. Funeral Mass will be 10:00am Saturday, August 18 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Steve Emanuel as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery with lunch following at the GACC Cafeteria. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00pm to 7:00pm with a guild rosary at 1:30pm and a vigil service at 7:00pm all at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Endowment. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Oliva Ann Luebbert was born March 2, 1925 to Lorenz and Elizabeth (Knust) Kampschnieder at Olean. She grew up on the family farm and attended Sacred Heart Academy at Olean. On February 5, 1946, Oliva married Leo Luebbert at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The couple moved east of West Point in 1953 where they farmed and had various livestock. Oliva lived on the farm until 2014 when she moved to West Point. Oliva was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and guild. She loved embroidery, sewing, playing pinochle, and baking. Oliva was known for her independent spirit and lifestyle. Oliva is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Ray) Kosmicki, Mary Luebbert, Doris Luebbert, and Joyce Luebbert, all of Omaha; sons Ralph (Sara) Luebbert and LeRoy Luebbert, both of West Point; sisters, Gertrude Heimann of Fremont and Alfrieda Wordekemper of West Point; brothers, Robert Kampschneider of Dodge and Hubert Kampschneider of West Point. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; sister, Leona Heimann; and brothers, Rudy, Art, and Clarence Kampschnieder.
