With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our dearly loved Leroy Aloysius Timmerman. Leroy departed this world peacefully on June 12, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Funeral Mass will be 10:30am on Monday, June 17 at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Monterey with Rev. Gerry Gonderinger as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery with lunch following at the Nielsen Center. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm with a Vigil Service at 5:00pm at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to GACC Endowments. Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home.
Born on February 12, 1948, to Clem and Helen (Stalp) Timmerman, Leroy held a deep appreciation for family, faith, and farming.

Leroy was a diligent student at Monterey Elementary School and Mount Michael High School and went on to study Mechanized Agriculture at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, where he honed his lifelong passion for farming. After graduation, he went back home to the family farm to work alongside his brother, Paul.

Leroy’s life was anchored in his family. He shared a loving partnership with his wife, Mary, from 1975 until his passing. Together, they brought four wonderful children into the world and doted on seven grandchildren.

Leroy had kind eyes, a warm smile, and an endearing nature. He was industrious and inquisitive, eager to learn how things worked and looked at things from all angles. He was always providing, whether a helpful hint or lending a hand, making an impression on all those around him. His supportive and thoughtful spirit will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

Leroy is survived by his wife Mary, his four children and their families; Jeff (Anne, Nathaniel, Taylor, Jordan) Timmerman, Emily (Sally Mellett) Timmerman, John (Erin, Roy, Remy) Timmerman and Megan (Joe, Ada) Poler; his siblings Paul Timmerman, Janet (Clarence) Brunnert, Rose (Robert) Decker as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by:
Clem and Helen Timmerman (father and mother), Roy and Phyllis Albrecht (father- and mother-in-law), Dorothy and Clarence Heimann (sister and brother-in-law), Karen Timmerman (sister-in-law), Kathleen Muxen (sister-in-law)
