Justina Gertrude Kroenke was born on April 26, 1922 to Conrad and Justina (Stratman) Kaup in West Point.  She grew up on the family farm where she was the 10th of 11 children and received her education at St. Aloysius Catholic School at Aloys.  On August 25, 1943, Justina married Aldred Kroenke at St. Aloysius Catholic Church.  The couple farmed 10 miles south of Dodge for 32 years before moving to Dodge in 1977.  Most recently, Justina lived at St. Joseph’s Retirement Community in West Point and Providence Place in Fremont.  The family would like to thank her wonderful caretakers at those two communities.

Justina was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at Clyde and served several terms as president of the Altar Society.  After moving to Dodge, she was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Altar Society, Christian Mothers, and American Auxiliary.  Justina enjoyed gardening, quilting, shopping, and collecting penguins.  Her home was filled with laughter and love.

Justina is survived by her daughters, Mary Mandel of Dodge, Phyllis Harlan of Bassett, Barb (Merlyn) Steffensmeier of Dodge, Patti (Don) Lamphere of Lincoln, and Jeanine (Rex) Kemp of Ogallala; sons, Ralph (Jan) of Omaha, Jim (Shirley) of Fremont, and Ed of Dodge; 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and happily awaiting 2 more great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Aldred; grandchildren, Scott Mandel and Julie Mandel; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Kroenke; sons-in-law, Harvey Mandel and David Harlan; sisters, Catherine Langhorst, Theresa Langhorst, Elizabeth Deppe, and Anna Parr; and brothers, Henry, Joseph, Aloysius, Conrad, John, and William Kaup.
