Joseph Anton Hagedorn, 76, of Scribner, died September 20, 2011 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Scribner. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am. Friday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Reverend Damien Wee as celebrant. Burial with Military Honor at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ridgley. Wake services with Knights of Columbus Rosary will be 7:00 pm. Thursday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 2:00 pm. Thursday at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point and continue from 3:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. at St. Lawrence in Scribner. Memorials may be made to Odysey Hospice or Good Samaritan. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. JosephHagedorn was born March 26, 1935 on the family farm near St. Charles, to Henry and Christina Luebbert Hagedorn. He attended St. Anthony’s school. Joe worked the family farm until joining the Navy in March of 1956 serving until October of 1957, stationed in California. Joe married Leona Stieren at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on September 17, 1959. The family moved to Scribner in 1969. Leona died June 23, 1995. Joseph married Grace Montague Port on October 30, 1999 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City, Iowa. Joe worked as a truck driver, owning his own trucking business, Hagedorn Trucking, retiring in 2006. He was a member of St. Lawrence Church, 3rd degree Knights of Columbus, West Point American Legion and Mended Hearts, Inc. Joe is survived by wife, Grace, daughter Karen (Tom) Kreikemeier of Snyder, sons Donald of West Point, allen of Lincoln, Dennis of Scribner, Steve (Angie) of Cambridge, Darren of Scribner; stepsons Gregory Port of Arvada, CO, Bradley Port of Arvada, CO, Douglas Port of Eau Claire, WI, Michael (Lisa) Port of Golden, CO; stepdaughter Michelle (Scott) Steffen of Guernsey, IA; grandchildren Josh, Emily and April Kreikemeier, Spencer and Cameron Hagedorn; stepgrandchildren Jakob, Atticus, Kalvon and Ruddy Steffen, Trevor, Duncan and Brianna Port; brother Edmund (Joan) Hagedorn of West Point. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leona; son Larry in 1978 and infant son Paul in 1963; brothers Herman and Frank.
