Jeffrey G. Stratman, 41, of West Point, died July 13, 2008 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Public Wake with Knights of Columbus Rosary will be 7:00 pm. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the benefit of his children. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 4:00 pm. Jeff was born June 16, 1967 in West Point to Gerald and Sara Ellis Stratman. He attended Dist. 25 School thru the 5th grade, transferring to Guardian Angels Catholic School and graduating from Central Catholic High School with the class of 1985. Jeff studied diesel mechanics for 2 years at Milford. On December 19, 1987, he married Cindy Meister at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Monterey. Jeff worked at West Point Implement for a couple of years, then for M & M farms. Jeff was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, served on the Central Catholic School Board, Rural Fire Board, and 4-H Swine Committee. He was a member of Cuming County Feeders Assoc., central Catholic Booster Club, West Point Sportsman Club, Eagles and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed working with 4-H calves, bowling and hunting. His passion was tractor pulling and he belonged to Nebraska Bush Pullers Assoc. and Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pullers. Jeff was a man of great inner strength who battled against cancer since November of 2003. Survivors include his wife, Cindy, of West Point, children Britney, Tyler, Amanda and Kali all at home, his mother and stepfather, Sara and Bill Hough of Columbus, sister Susan (Matt) Henjes of Gretna, brothers Tom (Shelly) and Doug (Joy) all of West Point, grandmother Alice Stratman of West Point, mother in law Virginia Meister of West Point and his faithful companion, Buzz. He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry, in April of 1995, father in law William in November of 2001, and grandparents Ed Stratman and Harvey and Pauline Ellis.
