Gwen Ramirez-Vega, 56, of West Point, died Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha. Visitation will be Friday, July 3 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home. Masks will be required for the visitation. Visitation will be live streamed through the Stokely Funeral Home Facebook  page at facebook.com/stokelyfuneralhome.  Burial will be Friday at 2:00pm at Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home.

Gwendolyn Ann Ramirez-Vega was born on December 26, 1963 to James and Bernadine (Hartman) Brewer in Omaha.  She graduated from Newcastle High School in 1981.  On April 19, 2001, Gwen married Salvador Ramirez-Vega in Elk Point, South Dakota.  After going to cosmetology school, Gwen found her calling in life through being a caregiver.

She became a Certified Nursing Assistant and Medication Aid and worked in many area nursing homes.  Gwen was beloved by both the residents and coworkers at Hooper Care Center, Parkview Home – Dodge, Good Samaritan Center – Scribner, Premier Estates – West Point, Colonial Haven – Beemer, and St. Joseph’s Hillside Villa – West Point among others.  Her kind heart and witty personality endeared her to all who knew her.   Gwen enjoyed cooking and making sure those around her were happy and healthy.

Survivors include her husband, Salvador of West Point; and sisters, Tina Marie Brewer of Warner Robins, GA and Becky Fowler of Perry, GA.   Gwen is preceded in death by her mother, Bernie; and sibling, Vaughn Brewer.

 

Gwen Ramírez-Vega, 56 años de edad, de West Point, murió el martes 30 de junio del 2020 en el hospital Nebraska Medicine en Omaha Nebraska. Las visitas serán el viernes a partir de las 11:00 am a 1:00 pm en Stokely Funeral Home. Se requerirán máscaras para la visita. Gwendolyn Ann Ramirez-Vega nació el 26 de diciembre de 1963 hija de James y Bernadine (Hartman) Brewer en Omaha. Se graduó de la preparatoria de Newcastle en 1981. El 19 de abril del 2001, Gwen se casó con Salvador Ramírez-Vega en Elk Point, Dakota del Sur. Después de ir a la escuela de cosmetología, Gwen encontró su vocación en la vida siendo cuidadora de personas mayores.

Se convirtió en asistente de enfermería certificada y ayuda de medicamentos y trabajó en muchos hogares de ancianos de la zona. Su amable corazón y su ingeniosa personalidad la atraían hacia todos los que la conocían. A Gwen le gustaba cocinar y asegurarse de que los que la rodeaban fueran felices y saludables.

Los sobrevivientes incluyen a su esposo, Salvador Ramírez de West Point; y hermanas, Tina Marie Brewer de Warner Robins, GA y Becky Fowler de Perry, GA. Gwen es precedida en la muerte por su madre, Bernie; y hermano, Vaughn Brewer.
