Clifford L. Johnson, 93, of West Point, died September 30, 2006 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Services will be 10:30 am. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Steven Peeler of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Pilger officiating. Cremation will follow the services with burial at a later date at the Pioneer Cemetery near Oakland. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Monday at Stokely Funeral Home with family receiving friends 6:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Pioneer Cemetery or Grace Lutheran Church. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Cliff was born February 20, 1913 on a farm south west of Oakland in Burt County. His mother, Lydia Johnson died when Cliff was four. He was then raised by his grandparents C. Albert and Ida Johnson. He attended school at Rock School, rural Oakland. On August 12, 1931, he married Marion A. Hansen at Elk Point, South Dakota. Cliff operated West Point Rendering from 1939 until 1996. He was instrumental in the founding and operating of Grain States Feed in 1957 and Grain States Soya in 1958 until the late 1980’s. Cliff was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Survivors include his son Donald L. (Carol) Johnson of West Point, grandchildren Scott (Erin) Johnson of Lincoln, Carrie (Randy Brock) Johnson of Ashby, NE and Danny (Genene Hansen) Johnson of West Point, great grandchildren Eric Johnson, Kylie Johnson, Trenten Dohmen, Kristy Johnson, Matthew Brock, Aleasha LaCroix, Amanda Brock, and Gregory Johnson, half brother Howard Larsen, half sister Shirley Anderson both of Albuquerque, NM, brother in law Milfred Hansen of St. Charles, MO, sister in law Bernice Hansen of Arlington. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marion in May of 2000, his parents and a half brother Ivan Johnson.
