Brett A. Brown, 53, of Snyder, died Sunday, July 26, 2020 at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy in Omaha.  Funeral Mass will be 10:30am on Friday, July 31 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder with Rev. Keith Rezac as celebrant.  Visitation with family present will be Thursday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00pm at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder.  Seating at the funeral and vigil service will be socially distanced by household. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.  Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home.

Brett Alan Brown was born on February 1, 1967 to James and Beverly (Caskey) Brown in Sioux City, IA.  He grew up in the Hooper area and graduated from Logan View High School in 1986.  On June 26, 1993, Brett married Jennifer Pullis in Sioux City, IA.   Brett worked for Load King and Gateway Computer before finding his niche at Smeal Fire Apparatus in Snyder.

Brett was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church.  As an avid hunter and fisherman, he also enjoyed being a member of the West Point Sportsman’s Club.  Brett could be found tending to his garden or fulfilling his role as “Dad Brown” to any child that needed it.

Brett is survived by his wife, Jennifer, of Snyder; daughters, Cheyenne Brown (fiancé Jake Renter) and Haillee Brown both of Snyder; sons, Colten Brown of Snyder and Ashton Pullis (Briana Williams) of Warsaw, MO; sisters, Colinda Brown of Elk Point, SD and Tamra (Raymond) Houfek of Yankton, SD; and brother, Marty (Colleen) Brown of Dodge; father figure, Melvin (Dixie) Kendall of Cushing, IA; and many nieces and nephews.  Brett is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Harold and Lucille Caskey and Peter and Eva Girard.
