What can I say about Bernie?I have worked with him, side by side, for eighteen years. This is what comes to mind.He is one of the most genuine people I have ever known. You always knew where you stood with him. He knew that no one could give more than 100%, but he gave it in everything that he did. He expected no less from others. This carried over to everything he was involved with. His faith is reflected in his family, his friends, his peers, and his student and coaching relationships. Why did he do this? It is simple. He wanted the best for everyone around him. He wanted his family, friends, peers, students and players to be their best, achieve their best, and to be people of faith. And he wanted them to settle for nothing short of less.It is my singular pleasure and reward to have worked close by him for eighteen years. He has taught me by his example, his kindness, his sometimes hard love, but most of all by just being himself.I will miss him. I admire him and respect him. But, most of all, I love him for just being, well, Bernie.John McEniry
