Agnes’Mutz’ Schlecht, 92, of West Point, died Friday, May 31, 2019 at Premier Estates in West Point. Memorial Mass will be 10:30am on Tuesday, June 4 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point with Rev. Steve Emanuel as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery with lunch following at the GACC Cafeteria. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00pm to 7:00pm with a Christian Mothers rosary at 1:30pm and a vigil service at 7:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home. Agnes’Mutz’ Schlecht was born on May 2, 1927 to Frederick and Catherine (Meiergerd) Lueckenhoff in West Point. She attended Guardian Angels Catholic School and graduated in 1945. After high school, she worked at Sass Drug Store for 3 years. On August 18, 1948, Mutz married Jerome’Bud’ Schlecht at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point. The couple founded Bud’s Tap in 1964 where Mutz was famous for her homemade pies. She took great pride in raising her 9 children. Mutz was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Christian Mothers. Her fondest memories are of going to Howells and Snyder for the dances with Bud. Survivors include daughters, Deb (Duane) Wiechman and Vickie (Dave) Welding both of West Point; sons, Dale (Kathy), Gary (Susan), and Gregg (Dee) all of West Point, Mark (Kris) of Sparks, NV, and Jeff of Bellevue; grandchildren, Jason (Michelle) Schlecht, Kari (Matt) Metschke, Kasey (Ryan) Heiser, Brandie (Eric) Freeman, Alyssa Schlecht, Dillon Schlecht, Matt Wiechman, Dustin (Jessica) Wiechman, Danny (Justina) Wiechman, Deanna (Michael) Mack, Chad (Stefanie) Breitkreutz, and Nicole (Scott) Wesche; 19 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rose Lueckenhoff and Joan Lueckenhoff both of West Point; and brothers-in-law Frank Duker of Kennesaw and Norman Tomka of Dodge. Mutz is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud, in 2007; and sons, Brian in 1970 and Jan in 2002.
