Jerry Engelmeyer, 70, of Omaha, died Friday, February 1, 2019 at his home in Omaha. Funeral Mass will be 10:30am on Thursday, February 7 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point with Fr. Steve Emanuel as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery with lunch following at the Nielsen Center. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00pm to 7:00pm with a vigil service at 7:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home. Family will receivefriends from 6:00pm to7:00pm before the vigil service. Memorials may be made to the West Point Central Catholic High School Endowment. Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home. Gerald’Jerry’ Steven Engelmeyer was born on March 5, 1948 in West Point to Vincent and Leona (Hunke) Engelmeyer. Jerry attended Guardian Angels Elementary School and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1967. He later moved to Kansas City, MO where he graduated from a technical college with a degree as an Auto Body Paint Technician. He moved to Omaha and worked as a paint technician for 40 years. Jerry was an avid sports fan. He especially loved to watch the Huskers and’Da Bears.’ He enjoyed fishing, watching Jeopardy, and never missed a day reading the Omaha World Herald. Jerry also enjoyed his Budweiser! Jerry is survived by his brothers, Bob (Mary) Engelmeyer of West Point, Tom (Mary) Engelmeyer of Valley, and Ron (Deb) Engelmeyer of Bloomington, IL; sister, Nancy (Bryan) Knobbe of West Point; and many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Leona Engelmeyer.
