Roseline Fredrickson, 90, of Snyder, died Monday, October 29, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Retirement Community in West Point. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, November 3 at 10:00am at St. Leo’s Catholic Church with Fr. Keith Rezac as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Leo’s Cemetery with lunch following at the Snyder City Auditorium. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00pm to 7:00pm with a vigil service at 7:00pm at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Hospice or St. Joseph’s Retirement Community. Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home. Roseline was born September 12, 1928 in Creighton, NE to John and Elizabeth (Tharnish) Mathine. Roseline graduated from St. Ludger School in 1946. She taught school in Knox County for 3 years before marrying Robert Fredrickson, Sr. on May 21, 1951 at St. Ludger Catholic Church in Creighton. They moved to Morse Bluff and Blair before settling in Snyder where Roseline worked as teller and manager of Snyder Cooperative Credit Assn. from 1951 to 1954. She served as a teacher’s aide at St. Leo’s Catholic School and worked with the school lunch program at Snyder High School until 1968 when she accepted a position as postal clerk at the Snyder Post Office. In 1981, Roseline was appointed Postmaster and held that position for 15 years before retiring in 1996. Roseline was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Guild, Christian Mothers, and a CCD teacher for many years. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Dreamers Extension Club. Roseline loved to be outdoors. She could be found sitting on her porch watching the birds, looking at the jet streams overhead, and enjoying the natural world around her. Survivors include her children, Peggy (John) Smeal of Scribner, Robert (Mary Jo) Fredrickson, Jr. of West Point, Sally (Thomas) Smeal of Snyder, and Lisa (Robert) Boyd of Hastings; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty (Dave) Walton of Franklin, Norma (Don) Hart of Creighton, Jack (JoAnn) of Pipestone, MN, Bob (Darlene) of Champaign, IL, Jerry (Rita) of Glidden, IA, Judy Wiebelhaus of Fort Scott, KS, and Pat Kuhlman of Bloomfield; sister-in-law, Mary Jean Mathine and brother-in-law Phil Haverkamp. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert, Sr.; sister, Mary Lou Haverkamp; and brothers, Jim, Dale, and Leonard.
