Marcella’Sally’ Mowinkel, 94, of Beemer, died Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Colonial Haven in Beemer. Funeral service will be 10:30am Monday, October 2 at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Judith Rainforth as officiant. Burial will be at Beemer Cemetery with lunch following at Grace Lutheran Church hall. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm with family receiving friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home. A memorial has been established. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Marcella Ann Faust was born on June 8, 1923 to Antone and Mary (Morrise) Faust in Tilden. Sally was the fifth child of eleven growing up in Tilden. In June of 1948, she married LaVern Kohl and the couple moved to Beemer in 1951. Sally worked at Delmonts Café for 25 years until she retired. In April of 1992, she married Russell Mowinkel. Sally was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with family, doing crafts, playing bingo, and socializing with friends. Survivors include her husband, Russell of Beemer; daughters, Diane Lemieux of Council Bluffs, IA, Nancy Gatzemeyer of Bancroft, Judy (Darrell) Fuhr of Leigh, and Patsy (Allen) Hanson of Omaha; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Kohl of Central City; son-in-law, Paul (Maren) Reppert, Jr. of West Point; stepchildren, George (Jayne) Mowinkel of West Point, Dan Mowinkel of Scribner, Sally (Rodger) Hiebenthal of Herman, Diane (John) Capazo of Papillion, Sandy Witt of Sebring, FL, and Bill (Mary Jo) Mowinkel of Grand Island. She will be missed by 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren, and 16 step great-grandchildren. Sally is preceded in death by her parents and siblings; husband, LaVern Kohl; son, Kenneth Kohl; daughter, Sharon Reppert; son-in-law, Dennis Gatzemeyer; grandson, David Kohl; and step daughter-in-law, Pam Mowinkel.
