Joy Abrahams, 54, of Sioux City, died Sunday, July 26, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City. Funeral service will be Thursday, July 30 at 2:00pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00am to 8:00pm with family receiving friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City, St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point, or local Relay for Life. Joy Annette Abrahams was born on October 13, 1960 to Norman and Pearl (McReynolds) Abrahams in West Point. She attended Cuming County District 22 country school and graduated from West Point High School in 1978. Joy worked as the St. Paul Lutheran Church secretary before attending Northeast Community College. After completing her classes in data processing and computer programming, she moved to Sioux City where she worked in the accounting department at Sioux City Brick and Tile for the last 26 years. Joy was a very active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed making arts and crafts gifts, especially handmade calendars, for her family and friends. Survivors include her parents, Norman and Pearl Abrahams; brothers Larry (Kathy) of Beemer and Glen (Karen) of West Point; sister Jill (Nick) Luebbert of West Point; 9 nieces and nephews, and 15 great nieces and nephews.
