Elizabeth V. Ernesti, 97, of Dodge died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Funeral Mass will be 10:00am Tuesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dodge, with Reverend Patrick McLaughlin as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery at Aloys. Christian Mothers Rosary will be 3:00pm Monday, Wake Service will be 7:00pm Monday, visitation will begin 2:30pm Monday, all at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to the church. Elizabeth Veronica Kluthe was born March 4, 1916 on the farm east of Howells in Colfax County to Conrad and Anna Ulrich Kluthe. She attended Sacred Heart Academy at Olean. On August 17, 1937, Elizabeth married Casper “Cappy” Ernesti at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Olean. The couple farmed east of Aloys, retiring into Dodge in 1976. Elizabeth was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Altar Society, and Christian Mothers. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, volunteering at Parkview Nursing Home, and social outings with friends. Elizabeth is survived by sons Raymond (Wanda) of West Point, Gerald (Maureen) of Herman, Walter (Mary Ann) of Omaha, and Eugene of Fremont; daughters Rosenda (Clint) VanBlaricum of Rapid City, SD, Theresa (George) Adams of Fremont, Marylin (Mel) Tomka of West Point, Alvina Heimann of Fremont, and Rita (Mike) Meyer of Fremont; 17 grandchildren; and many great-children. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Casper in 1986 and daughter Barbara in 1962. Stokely Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
