Charles Franzluebbers, 79, of Dodge, died Thursday, March 21, 2013 in Omaha. Funeral Mass will be 10:00am Monday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with Reverend Patrick McLaughlin as celebrant. Burial with military honors at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. Wake Services will be 7:00pm Sunday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, with visitation 3:00pm until 7:00pm. Memorials may be made to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church or Dodge Volunteer Fire Department. Charles B. Franzluebbers was born December 27, 1933, in Cuming County to Ben and Catherine (Ortmeier) Franzluebbers and attended St. Boniface Catholic School at Monterey. He was stationed in France as a radio operator in the US Army from April 13, 1955 until March 18, 1957. On April 14, 1959, Charles married Irene Steffensmeier at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson. The couple lived in Dodge. Charles began his employment at Dodge Coop in 1957, became the manager in April of 1984, and retired in April of 1994. Charles was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dodge American Legion, and served on the Dodge Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed playing golf and cards, visiting with his friends, listening to Polka music, and watching baseball. Charles is survived by his wife Irene of Dodge and six sons: Tom (Judy) of LaVista and their children Sara (Austin) Stanley and child William Stanley of Lincoln, and Mitchell of Bellevue; Alan (Kathrin) of Watkinsville, GA and children Berta, Anton, and Sofia; Kevin (Lynn) of Omaha and child Aubrey; Michael (Susan) of Papillion; Ron (Barbara) of Wethersfield, CT and children Ben, Rachel, and Leah; Jared (Regina) of LaVista and child Theodore. Survivors also include brothers Joe (Rose) of West Point and Tony (Connie) of Dodge; sister Bernadine (Mel) Kampschneider of Columbus; sisters-in-law Janet Franzluebbers of West Point and Cecilia Franzluebbers of Beemer; and brother-in-law Alvin (Anita) Steffensmeier of Clarkson. Charles is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Emil and Wenzel; sisters Mary Ann Franzluebbers, Marie Moser, and Gertie Ernesti. Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home of Dodge.
