James “Jim” Frye, 75, of West Point, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital in Omaham.emorial services are scheduled 11:00am Saturday at Trinity Church, West Point, with Pastor Phil Fischer officiating. Military honors will be conducted by West Point Legion and VFW Honor Guard. Burial will be at a later date at Arlington Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00am to 8:00pm Friday at Stokely Funeral Home, with family receiving friends 6:00 to 8:00pm. Memorials may be made to Trinity Church, West Point Sunshine Senior Center, or Cuming County Relay for Life. James Milford Frye was born August 8, 1937 in Arlington, NE to Henry and Bernice (Hansen) Frye. Jim married Virginia Sunds on October 25, 1957. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1955 and from Weaver Airline School in Kansas City, MO in September 1957. Jim joined the US Army in October 1960, serving until October 1963. Jim worked for Stalp Gravel, and after retirement was employed by West Point City Parks Department each Spring. Jim was a very active member of Trinity Church, West Point American Legion Post 70, the 40 and 8, the Sportsman Club, and he served as a Veteran’s Service Office Board member. Jim enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and feeding his backyard squirrels and birds. He was a St. Louis Cardinal fan and liked to watch the Cornhuskers. Jim’s favorite pastime was enjoying his family, and his fish fries and rib-eyes on the grill were the family favorites. Jim is survived by his wife, Virginia; daughters, Holly Frye of Plymouth, MN, and LeAnne (Brian) Brodersen of Randolph, NE; brother, Roger (Eva) Frye of Rapid City, SD; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Dean) Buhl of Fremont; grandsons, Christopher Camin of Norfolk and Mitchell Camin of West Point; one great-granddaughter, Piper Camin; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Frye; brother-in-law, Dean Buhl; and parents-in-law, Albert and Thelma Sunds. Stokely Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
