Elsie Beard, 94, of West Point, died Thursday January 24, 2013 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm., saturday, January 26th, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church, with Vicar Emily Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday noon until 6:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home. Stokely Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Elsie was born in West Point January 20, 1919 to Fred and Marie (Schneider) Koch. Elsie graduated from West Point High School in 1937. She married Lyle Beard in Las Vegas. The couple lived inCalifornia for many years. Elsie worked in the city office of Glendale, CA for 25 years. In 1974 Elsie moved to Colorado, where Elsie worked for the city of Wheatridge, CO. In 2006 Elsie moved back to West Point. Elsie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and an avid bowler. Elsie is survived by a sister, Marion Thompson of West Point, niece Judith (Ron) Schulz, nephew Rodney (Marilyn) Thompson. Great nephew Blane Thompson, great niece Noelle (Schulz) Tepas, and great nephew Matthew Thompson. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
