Venice Kay Krueger, 70, of Oakland, died Monday, August 20, 2012 at Fremont Area Medical Center. Services will be 10:30 am Friday at First Lutheran Church in Oakland with Pastor Mark Eldal officiating. Graveside services will be 12:30 pm at Mount Hope Cemetery in West Point. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be made to Mount Hope Cemetery. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Venice Kay Krueger was born September 14, 1941 in West Point, NE to John and Ellen (Rinderhagen) Krueger. She attended Rural School District #73 and West Point Public School. Venice lived with her parents and helped her father with little farm jobs. After her mother and father moved to town, Venice was enrolled in Region IV in Oakland NE and lived in Lyons for many years. She was employed at Logan East Rural Water in Oakland and Casey’s in West Point. Venice was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point. Venice loved playing with her many nieces and nephews when they were young and she loved opening gifts at Christmas. She was a true animal lover and had several pets through the years. Venice enjoyed going for rides, collecting calendars, reading magazines, and doing latch hooks. Venice is survived by brothers Don (Carole) Krueger of St. James, MN and Dennis (Gloria) Krueger of Stanton, NE; nieces and nephews Linda (Dave) Lenz, Greg Krueger, Loren (Janet) Krueger, Kenny Krueger, Kevin Kruege, Lori Allen, Ricky (Nancy) Krueger, Mark Krueger, and Kari (Greg) Nickolite; ten great-nieces and nephews; one great-great niece; and her Northstar family. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Duane Krueger and sister-in-law Janice Krueger.
