Wylma Reznicek, 91, of West Point, formerly of Dodge, died July 28, 2012 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Funeral Mass will be 10:00am Wednesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with Reverend Patrick McLaughlin as celebrant. Christian Mothers Rosary will be 3:00pm Tuesday with Wake services at 7:00pm Tuesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 2:00pm at the church. Burial at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Memorials to family choice. Stokely Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Wylma was born September 29, 1920 on the family farm in Colfax County near Tabor, to John and Antonia (Svoboda) Dostal. She attended country school until the family moved to Howells where she then attended high school. On September 20, 1938 she married Ernest Reznicek at St. John’s Nepocumene Catholic Church in Howells. The couple farmed south of Howells in Colfax County. Wylma was an active farm wife, tending a large garden, milking, caring for bucket calves and hens. The couple retired to Dodge in August, 1971. Wylma worked as a custodian at Farmers State Bank and part time at the Dodge cheese plant. She moved to St. Joseph’s Retirement Community in West Point in 2009. Wylma was a member St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Christian Mother’s, and 1st Catholic Slovak Ladies Association and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Survivors include children, Delores (Merlin) Yosten of Grand Island, Donald (Marcia) Reznicek of Ord, Leo (Patricia) Reznicek of Madison, Linda (James) Havelka of North Bend, Bonnie (Marvin) Evert of Lincoln, Kathy Thompson of Washington, IA, Joan Reznicek of Ponca, daughter in law Dianne Reznicek of Lincoln, sister in law Anna Kempf of Graettinger, IA, 22 grandchildren and 1 grand dog, 34 great grand children, 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Ernest, in June, 1998, son Gary in May of 1996, sisters Blanche Uher, Tillie Pickhinke, Bessie Novak, Adella Reznicek, Mayme Pavel, brothers William, John and Rudolph Dostal.
