Laura Ida Lase, formerly of West Point, died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Good Samaritan Society in Wood River, NE from Alzheimer’s disease. Services will be 2:00 pm. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church rural Bancroft, with Reverend Ricky Jacob officiating. Burial in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Wednesday with family receiving friends 6:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Society, Wood River, Ne, or Zion Lutheran Church. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Laura was born December 10, 1928 on the family farm in Cuming County, the oldest child of Arthur and Ida Jahnke Albus. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Bancroft and attended the Zion Church School. On September 3, 1950, Laura married Louis Lase at Zion Lutheran Church. She was a wonderful wife and mother, helping her husband on the farm and raising her children. In February of 1987 she moved into West Point, in 2007 to Grand Island and in 2010 to Wood River. Laura was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed spending time with herchildren and grandchildren. Laura loved to bake and do embroidery. In her younger years enjoyed working in her large garden. Survivors include daughters Lorraine (Tim) Meyer of Grand Island, their 4 children and 14 grandchildren, son Lowell (Nadine) Lase of Lincoln and their 4 children and 12 grandchildren, and daughter Lou Ann (Bill) Maack and their 2 children and 2 granddaughters, brothers LeRoy Albus of West Point, and Kenneth Albus of Chandler, OK, sisters in law Rose Cressy of Chadron and Mary Jane Lase of Glendale, CO, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis, on October 24, 1986, parents, brother Willard Albus, and sister Eunice Albus, sisters and brothers in law, a niece and nephews.
