James "Jim" Bart, 79, of Dodge, died Monday, September 30, 2019 at Parkview Home at Dodge. Funeral Mass will be 10:00am on Monday, October 7, 2019 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with Rev. Rod Kneifl as celebrant. Burial with last call by the Dodge Volunteer Fire Department will be at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery with lunch following at the church hall. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm with a vigil service at 5:00pm all at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. Memorials may be made to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. James Francis Bart was born on August 26, 1940 to Joseph and Theresa (Dirkschneider) Bart on the family farm northwest of Dodge. He attended Sacred Heart Academy at Olean and graduated from Dodge High School. He attended Norfolk Technical College before moving back to help on the family farm. On June 30, 1962, Jim married Linda Henrickson at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Olean. The couple moved into Dodge where they raised their family. Jim worked hard to support his family. He worked for Smeal Fire Apparatus for over 40 years as a welder and purchasing manager as well as working other construction jobs in the evenings and weekends.
Jim was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and the Dodge Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed spending his leisure time at the family cabin near Schuyler.
Survivors include his sons, Jeff (Janice) of Aurora, Jerry (Dori) of Carroll, Dale (Donna) and Dave (Sue) both of Omaha; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law Phyllis Bart of Arlington, Vlasta Bart Roubal of Dodge, and Elma Bart of Clarkson. Jim is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda in 2012; sisters, Roma Kampschneider, Emogene Burbach, Mary Ann McGuire and Grace Meister; and brothers, Donald, Harlan, Harold, Maynard, Duane, and Dean Bart.
