Karen Stinson, 45, of West Point, died Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Celebration of life service will be 2:00pm Sunday, September 24 at Stokely Funeral Home with Pastor Les Parmenter as officiant. Lunch will follow at Uptown Restaurant and Lounge. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Karen Stinson was born on July 27, 1972 to Jeanette Starkey in Phoenix, AZ. The family moved to Lincoln where Karen graduated from Lincoln High School. On October 25, 1999, she married Jason Stinson. The couple moved to West Point in 2012 where Karen worked at Graybeal’s Foods in the bakery. She was fond of her flower garden and enjoyed relaxing in the pool in their backyard.
Survivors include her husband, Jason, of West Point; daughter, Jasmine of West Point; sister, Kathy Ames of Texas; sister-in-law, Stacey Riess of Lincoln; brothers-in-law, Joseph (Yolanda) Stevens of West Point and Adam Douglass of Seward; and mother-in-law Helen Douglass of Burwell. Karen is preceded in death by her mother, Jeanette Starkey.
